Mission Statement

To enhance the quality of life by providing recreational and social opportunities for the public. Lead in the preservation, conservation, restoration and promotion of the natural, scenic and historical resources in the City of New Berlin.

Division Responsibilities

The City of New Berlin maintains 29 park and recreation sites that provide a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities for community members. These parks are characterized by features associated with maintained facilities and natural components. A variance in these landscape qualities and management policies provides for a balance of active, passive and scenic recreational activities.

  • 397 acres are developed Neighborhood, Community & Special Use Parks
  • 204 acres are undeveloped parkland
  • 128 acres are preserved as conservancy areas
  • 187 acres comprise the New Berlin Hills Golf Course

The Forestry Division is responsible for maintaining the City’s urban forest, which includes trees within City parks and trees located along municipal right-of-ways.

The City’s buildings are also managed and maintained by this department.
