Biography
Dave Maxey was born in Wisconsin and graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1991. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1991 to 1994. Following his military service, he earned an associate degree in marketing from Waukesha County Technical College.
In 2003, Dave and his family moved to New Berlin, where he and his wife raised their three children. Committed to community service, he was elected to the New Berlin Board of Education in 2008 and served as board president from 2011 to 2017. During his time on the board, Dave focused on fiscal responsibility, academic achievement, and expanding school choice.
In 2019, he was elected to the New Berlin Common Council. As an alderman, he has worked to strengthen public safety, promote economic development, and ensure responsible budgeting. In 2022, Dave was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 83rd Assembly District, which includes all of New Berlin as well as portions of Waukesha and Muskego.
Dave is one of the few elected officials in Wisconsin serving simultaneously at both the local and state levels. In this dual capacity, he has been a consistent advocate for New Berlin, helping secure increased shared revenue and transportation aid, and advancing the city's interests in Madison.
In the Assembly, he serves as Chairman of the Campaigns and Elections Committee, Vice-Chair of the Public Benefit Reform Committee, and is a member of the Corrections, Local Government, Transportation, and Veterans and Military Affairs Committees.
Dave Maxey is a strong proponent of conservative values. He believes in limited government, low taxes, and protecting individual freedoms. His record of service reflects a deep commitment to the people of New Berlin and to the future of Wisconsin.
