Loudspeaker Permits — Discontinued

The City of New Berlin no longer issues standalone loudspeaker permits. Amplified sound is regulated under the City’s noise standards and, when applicable, the Special Event Permit process. See Ordinance 2689 (adopted July 23, 2024). View Ordinance 2689 (PDF)

What this means

  • No separate loudspeaker permit is available.
  • All amplified sound must comply with City Noise Standards (Zoning Code §275-60) — open Chapter 275 and see §275-60.
  • If your activity is part of an event that may impact the public (use of streets/parks, large attendance, outdoor entertainment, amplified music), you may need a Special Event Permit (Sec. 152-23) — open Chapter 152 and see §152-23.
